While Vodafone is one of the larger names in the mobile phone industry they have started from the bottom with regards to both Home and Mobile Broadband like everyone else in the sector. However, they have pushed ahead at a pace which has put many of their competitors to shame, bringing in a Home and Mobile broadband service well before most others had even contemplated the broadband market. This has given them something of a head start and proved very lucrative for the company.

Over the last few months we have seen great interest in mobile broadband and while the mobile phone equivalent service may not be ready at the moment the build blocks are very much in place and starting to pile up. The fact that Vodafone Mobile Broadband is available and ready to go will ensure that as soon as the mobile phone equipment and infrastructure is developed in the UK, they will be ready an waiting.

This is the first step towards a fast and reliable Mobile Phone Broadband network and something which many expect Vodafone to dominate in the future although T Mobile Broadband is also a service which has featured prominently of late.

It will be interesting to see how there services develop because as competition builds we should see costs fall still further, giving consumers more choice of provider and cheaper package costs.
