While PlusNet Broadband continues to take the headlines and a string of awards in the industry, some in the market place may not be aware that it was acquired by BT in January 2007 for some £67 million and is now part of BT's broadband operations. The company also trades under the brand names of Force9, Free-Online and Metronet in the UK. To say that the group, which was created back in 1997, has been a success is possibly the largest understatement of the year!
