As we mentioned in our earlier article about O2, they also own another broadband service provider although they have not made the connection readily available in the press or on their website. While O2 are now owned by Telefonica they also acquired the Be Broadband (for £50 million) service provider which also trades as Be Unlimited, Be and Be Un Limited in the UK. The company itself was only formed in October 2004 and has made amazing progress in such a short space of time.

While the PlusNet service continues to win a number of high profile awards, Be Broadband are very much keeping pace with developments in the sector and are at the head of the queue when it comes to the fastest broadband services around.

Be Broadband has come from nowhere over the last few years and taken the UK broadband market very much by surprise. The acqusition by O2 has resulted in little noticeable change but the company now has access to a greater pot of investment funding. Be Broadband is certainly one to watch, although we may see the O2 connection made more public in the not too distant future.
