As the UK Internet sector, and especially the UK broadband sector, continues to develop it is believed that many people in the UK have not changed their ISP for over three years. This is despite significant competition emerging in the sector, a reduction in new package prices, an increase in broadband speeds and in many cases an increase in the reliability factor. However, is it really all about price?

The truth is that prices have come down but in many cases the quality of service and broadband speeds have increased. It is highly likely that if you have not reviewed your ISP package for over three years you may well be paying over the odds compared to new packages on the market. Many people appear to be put off changing their ISP purely and simply because of the perceived “inconvenience factor”.

However this perceived “inconvenience factor” has all but disappeared with your new ISP more than willing to take on the task of transferring your Internet connection and the paperwork which goes with this. The vast majority of transfers are “pain-free” with quite literally a very small period of time between transferring the line from one ISP to another – the vast majority of people are unlikely to even realise they had been disconnected for a short period.
