The launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has not only been one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent times but the multiplayer Internet based alternative did have the potential to bring down the UK broadband network. However, early signs are that despite the fact that significant numbers of players have moved online to play the game, the UK broadband network appears to be coping admirably.

This is certainly good news for the industry, where many players had deep concerns about the ability to support games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which is massively popular in the UK and around the world. Online gaming and multiplayer gaming is now an integral part of the UK gaming sector and one which is set to grow in the months and years to come. However, there is no doubt that more pressure will be placed on the UK broadband network but at this moment in time the network appears to be taking on board often excessive use of these facilities without any undue concern.

As broadband speeds in the UK continue to improve it seems inevitable that we will see the likes of VoIP become more commonplace across the country, with many businesses are already making use of this very cost-effective and very influential communication service.
