The festive period has seen companies such as Virgin broadband, Sky broadband, BT broadband and other leading Internet service providers rolling out a number of offers and promotions targeted at UK consumers. Indeed we are also seeing the likes of AOL contacting their customers directly to offer them reduced broadband connectivity costs if they renew their contract for a minimum period of 18 months. So should you be taking up these bargains?
There is no doubt that the general trend in the UK broadband market is one which will see the cost of broadband increase in the short, medium and longer term. The investment of billions upon billions of pounds into a new nationwide network will need to be paid back at some stage and ultimately it will be an increase in wholesale broadband costs and consumer contracts which will fill this “financial black hole”.
However, that does not mean that you should literally jump on the first bargain you see because as the festive period moves to a climax we should also see a number of broadband promotions and broadband deals in the New Year. Keep your eyes peeled for some excellent bargains over the next few weeks and if the deal looks too good to be true then jump all over it as it may not last forever!
