It has been reported that T-Mobile has again retained top spot in an independent study into mobile broadband speeds across the UK. The study was carried out by independent test house P3 Solutions as mobile broadband becomes ever more popular across the country, even though there is confusion amongst consumers as to exactly what speeds they can expect. This is the second consecutive study which has placed T-Mobile’s mobile broadband service at the top of the pile and is recognition of the company’s substantial investment into this service.

The report revealed that in the fourth quarter of 2008 T-Mobile was able to provide a broadband speed which was up to 35% faster than its nearest competitor. When you consider that the likes of Vodafone, Orange and other prominent mobile companies in the UK have been vying for top spot in the mobile broadband sector this is an excellent performance by T-Mobile.

While initially the mobile broadband service from T Mobile had a number of teething problems, it would appear that the substantial investment the business has enjoyed over the last few years is starting to pay dividends. However, T-Mobile will not be able to sit back for too long with news that Vodafone is currently carrying out trials of a new 16 Mbps mobile broadband service which they hope to bring online very soon.
