After a disagreement which lasted for around three years there are rumours that Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse are looking to work together again in the future. Carphone Warehouse was flabbergasted when Vodafone decided to walk away from an agreement with the company back in 2006 but since then the company has gone from strength to strength with a particular interest in the UK Internet and UK broadband sector.

While any new agreement is likely to take on board all Vodafone products, there is no doubt that mobile broadband and mobile Internet are the way ahead and the two heavyweights should be able to help one another. Carphone Warehouse has just acquired the UK operation of Tiscali which has been in trouble for some time. A reconnection with Carphone Warehouse would allow Vodafone to take advantage of Carphone Warehouse’s high-profile and Carphone Warehouse would be able to add the name of Vodafone to its already impressive client list.

Initially there may be concerns regarding potential competition in the mobile broadband sector although it appears that both companies are willing to work together as the sector is more than big enough for two or more large players. While the deal is not yet been signed, speculation continues to grow and we should hear something in the short to medium term.
