In a further sign of things to come in the future broadband market it has been revealed that Orange broadband has tied up with HP Compaq and Toshiba to offer connectivity services for two laptops in their range. The company has also invested substantial amounts of money in creating a new mobile broadband dongle manufactured by Huawei and exclusive to Orange.
Orange mobile is now able to offer the HP Compaq Mini 700 laptop, complete with Internet connectivity, for just £30 a month on a 24 month contract. For those fans of Toshiba, Orange broadband can also offer a Toshiba L300 for just £35 a month which again comes with free Internet connectivity. These are very popular laptops which are selling well in the mass market and a perfect entry point for Orange broadband in its blossoming relationship with these two leading computer manufacturers.
Vodafone broadband was one of the first companies to announce an alliance with a laptop provider and as expected competitors such as Orange mobile broadband have followed suit. The ability to effectively tie in new laptop purchases to a specific Internet connectivity service is vital going forward, with the market becoming more and more competitive. This is just the start of progress in this area and we await further news in due course.
