In a move which is sure to act as a wake up call for the likes of BT, Virgin and Sky to name a few it has been announced that ISP Vaioni will be offering London businesses the chance to lease high speed broadband connections where speeds of 100Mbps are available. While the service is not cheap at £800 a month, the benefits could far outweigh the cost for many of the capital’s businesses.

On top of the 100Mbps speeds available Vaioni has also promised to fix any problems with 4 hours, something which would be vital to a business service in the UK. The ISP is pushing this as a move for companies to save money as the credit crunch hits home but whether a great number will be in a position to take up the attractive offer at the moment remains to be seen.

Even though Vaioni also announced plans to roll out the service to other cities throughout the UK such as Manchester to name but one, it will not have the market to itself for much longer by all accounts. The likes of Virgin, BT and Sky have been trialling their own high speed services and must surely be near the role out stage now.

The heat has just been turned up in the high speed broadband sector!
