Plusnet has for some time been considered the UK broadband consumers best friend, topping a number of customer satisfaction polls and essentially giving customers exactly what they want. As part of the ongoing development of Plusnet the company is currently trialling a 24 Mbps broadband service making full use of the recent upgrade to a range of BT exchanges throughout the country. As part of the trial, the company is asking for existing customers and potential new signups to contact them if they would like to play their part in the new trial service.

While companies such as Virgin Media and Sky continue to grab the headlines, the likes of Plusnet have a very high reputation amongst UK broadband consumers, something which the company is keen to develop and expand in the future. The introduction of a reliable 24 Mbps broadband service, where you get exactly what is advertise, will ensure that the company at least keeps pace with the larger players in the UK broadband market at a time when competition is intense.

While the company is stressing that the 24 Mbps broadband service is still in trial stages, and will encounter various teething problems, they hope to have around 40% UK coverage by the end of March 2009 when the wrinkles should be ironed out in the ongoing trial. While the likes of Sky and Virgin Media have significant investment funding available, Plusnet has direct access to parent company BT which should see substantial funding forthcoming for development of the company’s broadband capabilities in the future.
