Only a few years ago, before the introduction of broadband technology, many in the UK were more than happy with their dial-up services even though broadband speeds available today are 1,000,000 miles away from the speeds of yesteryear. Now that we have broadband accessible in the vast majority of homes up and down the UK we have the introduction of mobile broadband and various bundled packages hitting the market. So what are the boundaries of broadband technology?
Internet broadband is becoming more and more popular around the world and more and more available in towns and cities across the globe via ever improving Wi-Fi networks. The ability to communicate with any other device connected to the Internet, no matter where it may be in the world, opens up massive potential uses across the globe. Home security, TV around the world, IPTV and interactive media are just some of the more obvious uses for broadband technology.
The truth is that broadband technology, and mobile broadband technology, is improving so quickly that many people have no idea how far the technology can go in the world of today. We are seeing new services and new uses announced on a daily basis and consumers are more than happy to try out an array of new broadband packages. The broadband speeds we have today will likely be dwarfed by the speeds available in five years time, 10 years time and further into the future. Where it will stop, nobody knows!
